Has anyone had major belt slip from the procharger d1 Kit(94-95) just wondering.
Has anyone had major belt slip from the procharger d1 Kit(94-95) just wondering.
I've noticed a good amount of belt dust recently on my D-1R, but its an 8 rib. Isn't the D1 kit a 6 rib?
yes, but I was thinking of getting an 8 rib kit.
351 canfield heads, trickflow intake, comp cam amd all the supporting hardware. p600b soon to do be d1 powered
OK. Are you having slip right now? FWIW, My setup is a 306, 7.65 crank pulley, 3.7 blower pulley, which should put blower speed at 56,916 for a 6200 shift, below the 58k max. I've seen several people post of much higher blower speeds, but I havent tried yet.
I dont have a d1 , IM thinking of upgrading very shortly

The belt wrap on the D-1 '94-95 kits is excellent and if you get a super tight belt and your tensioner works properly, belt slippage shouldn't be a problem with 15lbs of boost or less. I didn't experience any belt slippage running 15lbs of boost on mine. I ran 10lbs of boost for a long time (30K miles) and never had slippage issues. But I had to pry the belt on because I used super tight fitting gates belts.

Freezy,
The track I go to is an 1/8 and I only got two runs with a new gear before the stock T-5 died. They were both 6.90 @ 102 w/ 1.43/2 60' times. The car is a '94, 3400#, 4.30 gears. I think one of the online calculators I looked at came up with around 10.7 1/4 time which led to around 600, but I didnt believe it. I havent looked into the power numbers much, since I dont put much stock in dyno numbers or calculations. Ive seen too many big HP numbers in sigs and times that didnt match. Youve gone faster with 548, so the 600 doesnt seem too believeable to me. As for the boost, I didnt even look. I was just happy it was going straight (after adding Wolfe rear suspension parts). What are your 1/8 times for comparison? It sounds like we have pretty similar combinations. Mine is a 306 with twisted wedge heads, GT-40, mild CC cam. I'll be switching to an automatic for more consistant times, and hopefully to speed up, some time this winter. The car should be doing better, it just needs a driver with better shifting skills.
i run ported tw heads, GT-40 intake with the lower ported, comp XE274HR cam and an s-trim at about 11 psi@6k. i usually go low 6.70's @ 102-103 depending on the day. how heavy is your car? are the heads ported? what cam do you have?

94 GT @ 3400#
GT-40 ported/welded by RAP, TW heads perted by RAP, CC #35-306-8 (114 sep, 224/230 @ .050, .533/544 lift) To take advantage of the flow numbers the heads are supposed to flow I really need to upgrade the cam soon.
To compare, I couldnt find specs on your cam on the CC site. How high do you take your 306? Is it a stock block?
i set the shift light at 6k my cam is 224-232 555-565 112.
thats a good cam you have, i have a number of friends running it all with great results. seems to make good low end torque.
thats lite for a 94, my 93 notch is 3350 with me in it (200#).
i wish you had dyno charts, i would love to see how the torque curve is. if you want, i could senso you mine--i have a print out of the last time i ws on the dyno, made 535 rwhp.

That wieght was misleading, should be 3400 + 210 = 3610. That was before a few lightening things so I really need a new weight. local tracks dont have a scale, weighed last at a truck stop, so I'll borrow a set of scales from a circle track friend. That should be a more accurate weight and give me an idea of the distribution too. This winter I'll be swapping k-memebers and to coil overs so I hope to drop a few pounds there, too. I'll send you a PM with my address. I'd be interested in the charts for when I go to the dyno. I would like to go this spring. The car is rich - its actually running with a chip done for my old P600 a couple years ago by JMS. Back then it only made 406, and its only .37 faster with the new blower, so there is more there with a good tune.
you have to let me know what kind of weight you drop by swapping--i want to do the same thing. definately let me know how its coming along for you
