Not my car, but damn close to it. lol
street wheel? Silver = low maintanence yeah i love the chrome though
I really wish that wheel was 17x9 but aside from that they are a great wheel. I like chrome.
actually the chrome is truely low maintenance. it doesnt need polishing like aluminum wheels(weld etc.). they can just be washed with regular car soap. then a chrome polish once every 6 months or so.......BUT, brent is right, weather & everything else under the sun effect the longevity of chrome. though beautiful, it realistically only lasts 5 years under perfect condtions. then small blems/discoloration takes effect & worsens regardless of perfect maintenance.......i love chrome wheels though, most who have seen my website know im a chrome freak, lol!
brandon, the mavromont ponies are a great choice. you can keep the factory appearance yet add a subtle street look with a lower profile 17" tire, as well as gain added handling from the taller wheel!
-justin
Just not sure yet.
I guess it's possible to make the bullit's and others fit with a lincoln rotor if you do a little grinding here and there. This is another option I'm thinking about.
I'm thinking some mach 1's might be pretty neat. I know alot of people don't like em, but there is somthing about them on a fox.
Machs came off a secret concept pinto from the 70s.lol
lmao, steve, I havn't had any luck tracking down some villians. What did you do for your 5 lug swap? sn95? svo rotors?
the svo rotors work great for just about all after market 5lug wheels. i could be wrong, but the hat is just to tall for most of the ford wheels. the benefit frm the sn95 setup is you get better brakes plus the option to add even bigger brakes down the road! cant beat it for the price really.....but its about personal preference & what you really want from your car.....oh yeah, & affordability, hehe......im only saying to weigh it all out before deciding. regrets suck, think ahead =)
-justin
edit: a few beers & suddenly i cant spell, lol! go figure =)
I'm thinking I'm not to concerned with brakes for quite some time. Justin, any suggestions on aftermarket wheels?
yeah, the 1st ones you pic'd, the ROH zs wheels. ROH makes some great wheels, they back 'em up with a healthy warrenty as well. great structural design with appealing looks!....personally i like the just about all the staggered offset wheels like the AZEV type A's, BBS RK's, MODA R8's, O.Z. galileo III's, SSR GT3's(favorites)........those are my favorites. if i wasnt so into tracton & 60's now i would have deffinately invested in a set of the GT3's....but bang for the buck, integrity, & looks, ROH zs has it all(my opinion)
-justin
I used 30 dollars worth of lincoln rotors and 50 bucks worth of aerostar axles. 10 bucks apeice for rear drums. You wanna talk about cheap five lug.:)
lol, sounds like what I need to do. No to find a damn wheel setup.
untchbl.......get chrome-----lol
468lc..........they do make ponies in 17" now.
I know they are 17" frank, I just wish they were 9 inches wide instead of 8". I have 17x8" wide wheels on my car now and I kind of regret that skinny of a wheel.
steve, what would you suggest?
Brandon have you thought about the torque thrust IIs.
I believe they would work on a lincoln rotor as the hub of that wheel is totally different than the bullitt wheel. In some respects I think the torque thrust IIs look better than the Bullitt.
hehe, i knew frank would chime in if the word "CHROME" were mentioned =).........i hear ya on the width issue on the mavromonts. great wheel, but 1/2" in width would have made a huge difference!
-justin
(frank, still have the larger alt pulley for ya, just need to come get it)
i too agree on the torque thrusts, you ca get the staggered stance with those as well unlike the bullit wheels. ive seen the 9"/front 10"/back staggered stance & love it. very aggressive.....but then again im pretty set on that kind of look...sorry for the closed mindedness.. hope im not invading on your decision.........
-justin
hell no your not invading. I want alot of opinions since it comes out to be a pretty damn good chunk of change once you buy wheels and tires.
Steve, I like em alot, but had never given them any thought. HMMMM, I'll have to check em out. To bad they are expensive as hell.
ok, glad to hear, if yur up to it check this link: go to "wheels" in the subheadings. then look through the wheels & the last option is the "drift" wheel model. once you click on this you can get a chance to view a "3d" image where you control the wheels motion. talk about a pretty wheel! would be a true eye grabber on a fox stang. theres a few others that are interesting as well........not to be a pain, but the "zs" model is on sale right now in 16" & 17" sizes........again, sorry for the "lay it on thick" stuff, lol! roh
-justin
Holy poop on stick batman:eek: they are expensive. I guess I never priced those before.
hey thanks justin. don't worry about laying it on, I need the help really. I'm bad at making decisions.
I had a set of zs's line up, and the guy sold em.
steve you talking about the II's. I know, too rich for my blood. lol
How much you want to spend per wheel?
Yeah I was talking about the IIs
I was thinking I could afford 175 a wheel or so. If there is somthing I really like, I can just save my penuts a bit.
Justin, where are the roh's on sale?
ok, ok...sorry again. i know i push some high priced wheels, i cant help it. im a wheel nut, lol! heres a link to GROUP A WHEELS. one of the u.s.'s biggest & best priced ROH wheel distributor(since ROH is australian). heres a link, you can get the RS model from $129 a wheel in the silver......group a autotrends
-justin
Justin, steve was referring to the torque thrusts, but roh's aren't cheap. lol
oh, ok.......you guys would truely **** if you knew what my dumbass paid for the chrome ROUSH wheels for my stang. i wanted to be the 1st foxbody stang to have them back then(pre 01'). i believe i was...........anyways, dont research the ones i mentioned then, they are pricey too....but the link to the "zs" wheels is ligit on price!!
http://hometown.aol.com/myz8a4re/myhomepage/roush2.jpg
must excuse my partaking in "drinking some suds".....:D
(makes my old brakes lok tiny huh? hehe)
-justin
bling bling
man, the deal on the zs's is really good. I may just do it.
alright, I can afford a set of roh's. Probably not with tires, but wheels alone yes. I'm staying 4 lug guys. Said and done!
Plus, there is a set of welds on the corral for 425 right now.
:)
yeah, cant beat it brandon.......not to push on them, but the name, structural design, warrenty & reputation of the ROH wheels may help in your decision. if i may add, these things i just mentioned should have a big effect on anyones interested decision. being one that has has numerous wheels on my car, i would like to say that some of the most expensive & prettiest wheels were the worst in manufacturing & structure. since i can say w/o being banned, the ROUSH wheels were crap. though beautiful & expensive. they had chaffing & chipping chrome problems in less than 2 weeks time. so much for the "ROUSH" name. they let "PRIME WHEELS" make thier wheels for them. not a bad company but deffinately lower end of the aftermarket spectrum for sure.......'nuff said, get some well deserved wheels, good ones up front, learn from my mistakes............
-justin
now I just have to decide what sizes.
Me thinks 17x7.5 in the front, and 17x9.5 out back. I defenitly want the staggard stance.
Not to sure if the 9.5's will fit though.
yes, the 9.5's were designed for the fox body stang. they are a perfect fit, i must say that they had thier crap together when designing these. most fox stang owners go with the 8.5" front & 9.5" back. the lip is the same either way, same depth lip that is, but the backspacing was offset from front to rear for the staggered look. fills the wheel wells perfectly. sorry if i rained on it a bit, the lips dont very in depth, thus the price being affordable..........
-justin
Oh, I didn't know they weren't 9" wide. Can you still put a 275-40-17 on a 8" wheel ?Quote:

no, still cool, I like it when someone starts looking at the car and wonders just how far the tire is going to keep going under. lol
Whats the largest size tire that will fit on a 7.5" wheel? what about the 9.5? 275/40?
let this be said, the fenderwells will need messaged to fit the rear offset. you can go 8.5" out back if you do not want to do this but the 9.5's look stout!!! i higly recomend them.....there are several ways to go about rolling the fenders proffesionally w/o damage. id be more than willing to help in any way........
-justin
I'm not afraid to roll my fenders. Pointers? you can email me if you want justin. If it's easier for ya. I plan to try and run a 315/50/15 drag radial at some point, so there will be some massaging for sure. I have never rolled the fender lip myself though.
nobnard7@aol.com
we need to change your title from "senior member" to "wheel guru1"
lol
Brandon if yo go roh than I say go snipers. I know it shows more of the brakes but thats not the end of the world. LMFAO you can get some of those fake ricer big brake rotor thingies to put on there.
lol, fup that steve. lol. I may consider em. I might need some more pics to be totally convinced. My grandparents just agreed to throw some money towards the wheels for my christmas gift.
I think a set of the snypers costs somthing like 600 bucks with out tires.
I'll just have to paint my calipers and clean the rotors and drums up some I guess.
